What is it about?


The course is open to all so-called digital illiterates, those who typically use electronic devices without having knowledge of the processes that take place within them.

The course goal is to provide the basic tools to make the best use of the main operating software.


What will we work on?


The students will make 3 outputs:

☛ a spreadsheet to manage their family (or small business) budget;
☛ a presentation document with details of a personal project that you can show to investors;
☛ an elementary web site completely created from scratch.

How does it work?


The course is divided into three modules.

All modules will be based on parts of exercises and group work: participants will join contests in order to apply all the skills learned during the theoretical sessions.

☛ Basic Literacy:
• What is a computer algorithm, up to the hardware passing by the software;
• Text documents: introduction and tutorial;
• Spreadsheets: introduction and tutorial;
• Group Session: simulation of a financial market;

☛ Being and Appearing:
• Web-marketing Hints: SEO and Adwords;
• Introduce yourself: introduction and tutorial;
• Manipulating images: manage images in the modern world;
• Group session: creating a mock-up to be presented to investors;

☛ Be on the Web:
• Introduction to the digital world: Google tools (Analytics), domain and hosting;
• How to set up a website: the basic techniques and tricks;
• Group session: build your own web site;

↳ Courses will start once the minimum number of participants is achieved.
