What is it about?

The workshop wants to focus - and to expose a possible solution - on the (widespread and current) difficulty we have in dealing with the complexity of this ever-evolving present and imagining possible scenarios for the future.
A methodological preparation for change – which helps people to critically investigate the present, acquiring the ability to expand their imagination on the future – is necessary to avoid being paralyzed facing today's challenges and being unknowingly guided to future imaginations by others.

What will we work on?

Il workshop produrrà:

☛ una selezione di Curious Rituals sul tema “piattaforme collaborative” collezionati all’interno di Curiouspedia (piattaforma di raccolta dei URI e dei SAT);

☛ una descrizione dello stato attuale delle realtà, dei soggetti, delle tecnologie, delle pratiche attorno al tema;

☛ una Future Map, una visualizzazione delle possibili tendenze individuate e delle relazioni tra esse;

☛ La documentazione dei concept e dei pre-totipi realizzati dai partecipanti.

The workshop will produce:

☛ a selection of Curious Rituals on the topic of "collaborative platforms" collected within Curiouspedia (URI and SAT collection platform);

☛ a description of the actual state of realities , of subjects, of technologies and practices around the theme;

☛ a Future Map, a view of the possible trends identified and the relationships between them;

☛ the documentation of the concepts and pre-totipes made by participants.

How does it work?

The workshop uses a learning mode in situation, where participants acquire knowledge and skills of Near Future Design through the application of the methodology to the future of collaborative platforms theme.

Starting from the theme and a community of reference we will explore the consensual reality (what is commonly perceived as normal), curious rituals (what is perceived as bizarre, unusual), the state of the arts and technologies.

This will allow participants to have a map of the present from which to detect the evolutionary trends and the weak signals in the present, which reveal many possible future.

Among these, participants will choose the future scenarios that will be preferred and shape them in a way that will trigger discussions and debates.
