The fundamental principle of Suprematism claimed that art should emancipate from figuration to develop its own – totally abstract – language, which is not less significant of the reality of nature. The art, freed from the obligation to reproduce "figuratively", could then develop its own and original plasticity.
The studied forms will be developed into an alphabetical typographic system with the aim of producing a family of digital characters.
The course proposes to revisit the supremacist thinking pattern, expanding the notion of "pure form". The collective working sessions will be based on the analysis and preliminary testing of a bouquet of plastic items and tools, introducing the concept of consistency of forms as a preliminary value to be explored and defined.
